Amendments to the Tahoe Basin Area Plan have been underway since 2022, and have been through several public comment and regulatory review processes. Some of the changes include increases in maximum allowed height and increases in maximum building length, as well as blanket approvals of multi family dwellings. Public opposition to the allowed height increase has resulted in the county reconsidering this provision, though it is unclear if this increase will be completely forbidden. There are upcoming meetings where you can make comments, or you can write in with comments prior to the meeting. The amendments are being presented to the TRPA Regional Plan Implementation Committee and to the Placer County Board of Supervisors. Stay tuned for dates and important links.
